RectorSeal is Gold Winner in ACHR News 2015 Dealer Design Awards

mighty-bracket(Houston, TX)  - RectorSeal was recognized for excellence in product design in the  12th annual Dealer Design Awards Program sponsored by The Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration News magazine. An independent panel of contractors acted as judges in the contest that had 107 entries. The company’s Mighty Bracket was the Gold Winner in the miscellaneous category. The ACHR News is the leading trade magazine in the heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration industries.

News Publisher Mike Murphy stated, "These awards give us a unique opportunity to recognize the outstanding research and development efforts that go into many of the products serving the HVACR industry and the awards issue gives our readers an opportunity to read about innovative installation and service solutions."

The reason we came-up with the idea for the Mighty Bracket was because are continuously improving the mini-split installation process for contractors and we saw a lot of two-man installations and installers setting indoor units on top of ladders while they wired-up the equipment.  The actual idea for the product came from the bits and pieces of information which contractors gave us during feedback when we asked them what would make their job of mini-split installations easier, faster or safer.  They couldn't tell us specifically what they needed or wanted, but we figured it out.  It's like Steve Jobs said about designing products by focus groups "A lot of times, people don't know what they want until you show it to them."

Once we started working on it, we knew that the eventual product would be a big hit if we made it durable and versatile.  We field tested it with almost all of the new models from major equipment manufacturers to make sure we didn't miss anything and to get new ideas for any necessary adjustments or improvements to help optimize the design.

One of the interesting things which surprised us was that installers wanted the product to be a bright color, for safety reasons - - especially on commercial jobsites - - so we made it yellow.

Another great feature that we are hearing that contractors love is toughness of the product, while being so lightweight; it holds-up to rough handling in the service truck and it doesn't break or get damaged easily if dropped.
The main and still greatest feature of the Mighty Bracket, of course, is that it now allows the mini-split installation to become a 'one-man job.'  After all, THAT is why we introduced it in the first place.

The Mighty Bracket has been one of the most successful product launches we have ever introduced to the HVAC/R market!  Our philosophy is "Power to the installing contractor!"
